A handy, consolidated spreadsheet lets you quickly compare rPerfs and CPW across different hardware generations.
Have you ever wondered how much faster POWER9 systems benchmark against earlier versions of the hardware? Well there’s an easy way to find out. Go to the IBM Lab Services UKI (United Kingdom and Ireland) POWER team web page to download a spreadsheet with this information.
As you can see, the most recent update came in August:
Date of Change | Description |
13-Aug-2019 | Added 6 Core E980 servers |
7-Sept-2018 | Added POWER9 servers (E950 and E980) |
27-Feb-2018 | Added POWER9 servers (S922, S914 and S924) and updated POWER8 servers to reflect Spectre and Meltdown |
12-Sep-2017 | Added S812 POWER8 servers and updated S822 POWER8 servers |
8-Nov-2016 | Added C Model Power8 Servers (E850C, E870C and E880C) |
To download the actual data, do what the large red text says and click here for consolidated spreadsheet.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who enjoys being able to compare rperfs and CPW across different hardware generations. While the POWER Facts and Features guides also have this information, this spreadsheet puts everything at your fingertips. Check it out.
